OPDC 1 explores advanced diagnostic methodologies and protocols in dentistry. Example topics include: caries detection, imaging advancements, diagnostic adjuncts, periodontal diagnostics, salivary diagnostics, and genetic testing. Students critically research the literature to objectively determine pros and cons of the assigned diagnostic intervention. Successful completion of OPDC-1 is required to progress to the D3 year.
