SLCD provides students with the opportunity to apply the principles of community oral health through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a community-based outreach project. Working in teams, students develop and deliver an oral health–related initiative that addresses the needs of a community. Students also complete an individual reflective assessment of their service-learning experience. Successful completion of SLCD is required for graduation.
